Not content to grapple with a global pandemic of historic proportions, my body decided to increase the difficulty setting for yours truly. A dormant chronic condition of which I had been ignorant began to assert itself last year, then erupted into full force this year; its symptoms swelling to such a degree that it made it impossible to work, or even think, and left me despairing whether my days were dwindling down to a precious few. September, November…
To the great relief of my loved ones and myself, the condition, while bothersome and permanent, is also non-life threatening. Better still, a drastic dietary change can make my flare-ups more manageable, although my specialist says that it may take about a year for their intensity to begin receding. It has been only in recent weeks where I have been able to begin feeling and functioning like my old self.
Regrettably, I had no choice but to abruptly drop out of a few projects, including tending to my humble website. Being able to type anything at all and managing these few words of explanation is a small achievement for which I am deeply grateful.
I hope in the next few months to begin returning to work and, hopefully, sharing more about the art which has sustained my energies through this difficult time.
