Néstor Castiglione (b. 1982) is a writer, journalist, translator, and lecturer born and raised in Los Angeles. Devoted to listening to and learning about classical music since the age of 12, his writing displays his wide knowledge of the cultural, political, and geographical factors that have shaped the genre. Among his other passions are the music and culture of early Shōwa era Japan (1925 - 1945), mid-20th century easy-listening music, and the writings of Camilo José Cela and Daniil Kharms. His work has been published in the Crescenta Valley Weekly, The Eastsider, Rafu Shimpo, The Armenian Mirror-Spectator, Culture Spot LA, Bachtrack, and MusicWeb International. He lives in Pasadena, California.
